Hiking in Saint-Martin

On this small piece of rock in the north of the Caribbean, several signposted trails have appeared, marked out by the ONF or the Conservatoire du Littorale.
We recommend that you always take a pair of sneakers with you on your travels, to discover nature in a different way.

The Froussards trail

For this Le sentier des Froussards de Saint-Martin hike, we're proposing a loop, which will take you up one of the steepest roads in SXM at the end of the hike. We'll go around The Red Rock, a botanical trail with a wide variety of plants and magnificent beaches.

First, head for Anse Marcel and park on the tuff road just before you reach the bay, on your right.

Continue along the tuff path, in May at SXM, you'll be walking through clouds of white butterflies and at the fork in the road follow Sentier des Froussards. Legend has it that pirates buried treasure on this trail!
At the next junction, the path becomes steeper and you head towards the viewpoint to admire the island of Anguilla.

You then skirt around Red Rock and the trail descends to your first beach.

You cross the beach to reach a caye point and follow a second beach of cayes known to surfers on the island of Saint-Martin when the swell is favorable.
When you reach the road, you're likely to come across some donkeys.
And you head up the road towards Anse Marcel.

Depending on your departure time, this hike can be made in either direction.
