During your stay in Guadeloupe, don't miss the islands of Les Saintes and the hike to Terre-de-Haut. These islands will make you want to extend your vacation!
A little paradise
In the south of Guadeloupe, take the boat from Trois-Rivières to the CTM Deher to reach the paradise islands of Les Saintes in 20 minutes.
AND you've arrived in one of the most beautiful bays in the world!
Hike from Baie des Saintes to Morne Morel
Departing from Terre-de-Haut, a village of colorful Creole houses and typical West Indian architecture, we follow the road towards Fort Napoléon.
We turn off towards Marigot Bay and follow a trail marked out by the Conservatoire du Littoral.
On the trail
The climate on the islands of Saintes is arid. The track is generally dry, with many pebbles.
You'll have to climb a little to reach the crest trail.
The first panoramic view is of Fort Napoléon, with the bay of Les Saintes in the background.
Along the way, we come across a number of animals: free-roaming goats, iguanas, hermit crabs... A well-stocked pond after the rainy season is a lifesaver for all these animals.
A little more effort and we reach the Crêtes. The view is 360°, with Guadeloupe, Désirade and Marie-Galante on one side, and the island of Dominica and our archipelago of Les Saintes on the other.
Fort Caroline
At the end of the Crête, past the old gun battery, we arrive at Fort Caroline, located on Morne Morel.
Your guide will be delighted to tell you the sad story of Caroline and the Chevalier de Fréminville, our Romeo and Juliet.
Back in the village, take a stroll through the streets to discover the Creole architecture of the houses and the care taken to harmonize the colors.
There are plenty of restaurants offering fresh fish, and on the beach at Fond Curé you may even be able to see the fishermen.
You wish to reserve a private guide.
If you would like to stay overnight in Les Saintes, we recommend La Petite Villa des Sainteswith panoramic views. Don't hesitate to stay for a week on your next visit.
Sleeping on Terre-de-Haut is a different way to discover the island!
